Your communication data stays with you.

1. Local communication between the apps

Little Talks and Little Beacons are designed to communicate locally between devices you control. Little Messages and parent replies do not need to pass through a Little Talks cloud or server.

2. Local backups

Little Talks can send a backup snapshot directly to the paired Little Beacons device. A snapshot may include app settings, AAC tiles, images and recordings. Little Talks does not keep a cloud copy of that backup on a Little Talks server.

3. Communication Insights

When Communication Insights are enabled, usage information is recorded locally on the child device. Little Beacons can request an aggregated report from that device.

The current Insights design includes communication patterns such as selections, vocabulary, message length, prediction use, new vocabulary and time-of-day patterns. Audio, location and unrelated device activity are not collected for Communication Insights.

Raw communication events are not included in the generated PDF report. Communication Insights is observational and is not a clinical assessment or diagnosis.

4. Website tester sign-up

The tester sign-up is separate from AAC communication data. To add a tester to Google Play, we need the Google account email address they want added to the testing group. We may also collect a name, tester role and optional note if the tester chooses to provide them.

This information is used only for managing testing access and communication about the Little Talks test unless we tell you otherwise.

5. Website contact messages

If you contact Little Talks through the website, the information you choose to send — such as your name, email address and message — is used to respond to your enquiry.

6. Children’s communication data

Child AAC communication, app backups and Communication Insights are not submitted through the website tester or contact forms.

7. Website email delivery

The tester and contact forms do not upload messages to a Little Talks server. Submitting a form opens a pre-filled message in your email app, which you choose to send to a Little Talks mailbox. Normal email-provider handling then applies to that message.
